A day at the beach with Hurricane Erin

A day at the beach. Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach. The clouds in the distance are cirrus clouds from Hurricane Erin. The surf was up, but I’ve seen worse. I’m glad this storm missed the US.

The clouds you see in the distance are cirrus clouds from the hurricane.
Always at the ready.
The surf was up, but not bad.
Beach parking is only allowed in a few places on Amelia Island. The island has about 13 miles of Atlantic coast.
Hurricane Erin is heading north.

Dawn on Long Island. A very good friend sent me this image this morning. Nikon D7100.
Hurricane Erin at 1:30 pm, August 20, 2025. The center was about 400 nm due east of Amelia Island, Florida. Moving North at 13 mph.
