Happy SUNday! – Classic Cars

A couple of classic cars taken in June 1958 somewhere in Connecticut (maybe Hartford).

My wife’s Uncle Bill’s car – a Ford? Reader Jim Grey says it’s a Dodge and I agree. Maybe a 1958 Royal Lancer? The paint scheme is pretty gaudy – a “saddle” two-tone, which had the roof and all of the body below the belt-line trim as one color and the body above the belt-line trim as another.
My father-in-law’s Frank’s car – a Chevy Impala.

They built them big and heavy back then and to think they were considered coupes (two doors). Dual antennas too! Have a great day!

Happy SUNday! – Father’s Day

Me with my son Tim a few years ago.
My dad (Paul) on a pony around 1919 or so. Why I like this picture so much is that it was taken near where he grew up in Brooklyn. His dad was a delivery man for Borden’s Milk and drove a horse drawn wagon to make his deliveries. My dad grew up around horses and while in the CCC during the Great Depression was responsible for taking care of the horses they used while on site.
My family together for our annual family vacation. Lindsay, me, Carol, and Timothy.

Classic Yashica Saturday – J3 with Yashinon Zoom

Yashica J-3 in pro-black finish with Auto Yashinon 75-230mm f4.5 zoom lens. The camera is from 1963. This was Yashica’s first black 35mm SLR.

My trusty buddy Pirate keeping me company while I played with my cameras. Sadly, Pirate passed away back in the Spring of 2018.

Happy SUNday! – found boxes!

Not that they were lost, just the pics (more like hidden from myself). Sadly most of these items including the gorgeous Canon AE-1 Program have been passed on to other collectors (sold). But collections are meant to be dynamic and that’s most of the fun. Chasing down those items you’ve always wanted for your favorite cameras.

This was an awesome camera and super fun to use! If you’re chasing a Canon AE-1 don’t overlook this better version of the original – it even gives the A-1 a run for the money.
Bits and bobs from my Yashica collection over the years.
