Historic District – up close in Fernandina Beach

One of my favorite photo walks is when I focus on the smallest details of our historic city. Fernandina Beach is located on Amelia Island which is located in the extreme northeast corner of Florida’s Atlantic coast. Exit 373 off of I-95.

Door handles are fascinating subjects and the Historic District has plenty to photograph.

At least a centuries worth of paint going on here.

Just outside the main post office in Fernandina Beach (32034) are these wonderful lamp post bases. Circa 1911

Thanks for stopping by and if you ever find yourself on I-95 heading south into Florida take Exit 373 – Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach – head 14 miles due east and you’ll be treated to this wonderful gem of a town “trapped” in the late 19th century.
