This amazing Honda (shown here in October 1985 with Carol “stealing” my commuter car) got well over 50 mpg on the highway with a 1.5-liter gas engine and manual transmission. The “HF” model (high fuel) was the most difficult of the three models to find at a dealership as they were in high demand and produced in a somewhat limited way. The car with a full tank of gas and a driver still weighed in at just under 2,000 pounds – no airbags but it did have AC and a radio. Doc’s DeLorean had nothing on my CRX!

Me on top of New York! Well, almost.

On top of Whiteface Mountain, Wilmington, N.Y. near Lake Placid.

The original image on Kodak Kodacolor Instamatic film. The square pics of my youth.
Whiteface Mountain hosted the alpine portion of the Winter Olympics in 1932 and 1980.

At Whiteface Mountain in 1960 – mom’s got a good hold on me with no seat straps.

I know it’s a bit out of season for a picture of a carp streamer (Koinobori) but this image qualifies as a “found image” from a bunch of “lost” pictures that I had taken with my Canon A-1 and Canon FD 500mm reflex lens. I believe I used Fujicolor.

I had sold this Canon lens (FD 500mm f/8 Reflex) in mid-2013 and never really got a chance to give it a good workout. I have another 500mm lens headed my way and I hope to give this new one more of a workout.
The Canon reflex (mirror lens) produces pleasing highlights in the out of focus background.

Do you have an “untouchable” camera in your collection? We have a few and I hope to share them over the next few weeks. – Chris
How many of you remember Green Stamps? How about Plaid Stamps?

Cute ad from around 1966 or so. My mom saved Plaid Stamps (in New York) when she shopped at the A&P – we were always getting cool stuff with them!

MY country does not rip children from their parents under any circumstance! Never! But it’s happing now is this new sick twisted reality of today’s America.
Put a stop to this barbaric situation now! There is no excuse for such heartless inhumane treatment of these families. Stop it now! This is what desperate dictators do. They divide people and demonize anyone that thinks or is different. It’s not the real America.
Call your representatives and tell them to stop it now. No negotiating the lives of families. It’s a sick thing to do enforced by only sick people and only evil-minded people would even think of doing it.
Thank you.
Chris and Carol
