Happy SUNday! – images from a 1959 lens.

Very nice colors and contrast. This 35mm lens, when used on a crop sensor camera like the Fuji, provides an effective focal length of approximately 52mm, which is considered a “normal” or “standard” lens.
A test picture showing nice contrast and color from a sixty-five-year-old lens.
An Asahi Takumar f3.5 35mm wide-angle lens from 1959 mounted on my modern Fujifilm mirrorless camera via an adapter.
This classic lens looks right at home on my Fuji X-T2.

I enjoy using classic lenses on my modern cameras. It’s easy and inexpensive to adapt your lenses to your mirrorless digital cameras.

Happy SUNday! – strange stuff

I have two Martin County, Florida, House of Refuge Bicentennial Medals (1776-1976) and one Sears Centennial Coin (1886-1986).
Remember these?
US and Canadian coins.
Lens caps and a Leica Inspection Tag (Hang Tag).
A vintage loupe with its original box.

I found a box in my home office-studio with some cool old stuff. I put these on Mercari in case someone might have a desire to add them to their strange stuff box.

Happy SUNday! – my dad

Brooklyn, New York, c1919.

This isn’t a souvenir picture; my grandfather drove a horse-drawn Borden’s milk wagon, and my dad, Paul, grew up around horses. He’s about 6 or 7 in this photo.

SUNday’s Cameras – Fujifilm Fun

Fujifilm FinePix S3380 14MP CCD sensor bridge camera.
26x Fujinon 24-500mm lens.
Fujifilm FinePix AX330.
Super sharp CCD sensor and 14MP.

There’s plenty of fun to be had with these two from Fujifilm. The super compact FinePix AX330, which fits in a shirt pocket, to the powerful FinePix S3380 bridge camera with a 26x 500mm Fujinon zoom lens and image stabilization, in a package that’s smaller than a typical DSLR or mirrorless camera. They are both in my Etsy camera shop now and available for purchase at http://www.ccstudio2380.com.

Happy SUNday! – I take an old friend out for a photowalk.

The Nikon L35AF was Nikon’s first 35mm autofocus camera. Its reputation is top-notch, which is the name it is known by in Japan – Picaichi. No swooping lines here, just a solidly built gem from the 1980s.

The Nikon features a super-sharp f/2.8 35mm lens.
Loaded with fresh Fujifilm 200. Not my favorite since Fuji dropped the better versions, but it’s still colorful and contrasty.
They came in two models. The first was an ISO 400, and the updated one was ISO 1000. This is the latter ISO 1000 one.
Ad from 1983 or early 1984.
Got to have the instructions.
The details.
I just added this very nice, unused Canon CPS Think Tank camera bag to my Etsy camera shop at http://www.ccstudio2380.com.
