Fujifilm Nexia Cameras – 3200 ixZ

When it was released in 2000 it listed for about $400 USD.

Like it was carved out of a block of stainless steel –

Brand new Fujifilm Nexia 3200 ixZ MRC APS film camera from 2000. Just before the digital camera revolution took hold, Fujifilm designed these super sharp and compact cameras with loads of features. This one features a sharp Super EBC Fujinon 23 to 70mm Zoom (7 elements/7 groups) f4.8 lens which has better specs than the popular Fujifilm Tiara.

eBay – Out of Control!

I hadn’t looked at my selling fees on eBay in quite a while and with the recent sale of a classic Tomioka lens, I was shocked when I looked into the details of the sale. They charged 13.25% on the total amount collected which included shipping and taxes.

Yashica-Tomioka Auto Yashinon 55mm f/1.2 M42 mount lens.

The lens sold for $689.00. Shipping was $19.00 and sales tax was $70.62. My actual shipping was about $25.00. Instead of charging the 13.25% seller’s fee on just the $689.00, they charged 13.25% on the total of $778.62 which took $103.17 from my potential profit. In my opinion, this is outrageous since I don’t make a profit on shipping and certainly no profit on taxes. This is the last time I’ll sell something like this on eBay and will concentrate my selling on my Etsy site (www.ccstudio2380.com) and on Mercari. Goodbye eBay!

I originally purchased the lens many years ago for $600.00 with $50.00 shipping from Japan. As you can see, eBay’s fees for reselling it resulted in a slight loss. I did get to enjoy the lens for all of those years so at least it hadn’t resulted in a greater loss in value.

Asahi Pentax MZ-L

I’ve added this beautiful Pentax MZ-L 35mm SLR to my camera shop. It’s complete with a sharp (Asahi) SMC Pentax-FA f3.5-5.6 28-90mm zoom lens. A pair of classic Nikons.

A pair of classic Nikons ready for their first adventures with me.
On the left is a Nikon F Photomic-T with a Nikkor-S Auto 50mm f1.4 lens with an age-appropriate cap. The camera body is from 1967 and the finder is from 1965. A more appropriate finder for this body would have been the TN. The lens is from 1968. On the right is a Nikon F2A Photomic with the DP-11 finder (that’s what makes it an “A”). The F2 body is a late 1972 to early 1973 model and the finder is from at least 1977. The lens is a Nikkor 50mm f2 from 1978. The strap is NOS that I just happen to like the color scheme on it. The brown half-case on the Photomic-T is a mid-sixties case.
Both meters have been checked and they are accurate – a film test will tell more but on older metered cameras such as these, I shoot color negative film with a wide exposure latitude (Fujifilm 200 and 400).
There you have my entire Nikon collection (almost). I’ve just added the last piece, a gorgeous early F from 1964 which I’ll soon show off. LOL

Fujica GW690 Professional 6x9cm Camera
Fully Tested and Working Perfectly

This is the famous “Texas Leica” camera
from the late 1970s. It’s super simple
to use and produces some of the sharpest
and most detailed images imaginable.

and I’ve used this camera many times over
the years. It works perfectly.

It takes 120 roll films which are still made today.
It requires no batteries.
It has a leaf shutter in the lens – simple and accurate.

Happy SUNday! – Holiday Weekend

The 4th of July weekend is well underway here on Amelia Island. The beaches are quite busy and as always, the City of Fernandina Beach is out in full force protecting our locals and tourists alike.

The Kodak EasyShare Z1015 IS is a wonderful “mini-bridge” 10.1 MP digital camera that produces film-like images. It’s amazing just how nice these cameras are with CCD sensors. It’s available in my camera shop at http://www.ccstudio2380.com

What makes this camera a standout is the super sharp Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon 28mm to 420mm 15x optical zoom lens. The camera stands head and shoulders above other CCD sensor cameras from that period. Shooting with a “vintage” digicam is a rewarding experience.

A 10.1-megapixel CCD sensor and HD video. It consistently captures the most life-like images.

Chasing Classic Cameras with Chris

One of our favorite lenses in the Yashica family. A rather fast f/ 2.8 60mm macro lens made by Tomioka Optical Co., Ltd. of Tokyo for Yashica. 5 elements in 4 groups… it’s capable of life-size (1:1) macro photography. As Yashica describes this lens… “By far the most effective lens for close-ups, copying and macrophotography, as well as general photographic work. Features a new optical glass element, and is fully compensated for all aberrations. Designed to ensure maximum brightness and extremely sharp results. Particularly effective for close-ups of moving subjects (??) and macrophotography without using bellows.” Not sure about the moving subjects part as the depth of field is very shallow.

Weighs in at around 400 grams and can focus down to 0.235 meters. Filter size is 58mm and of course it has the versatile M42 screw-in mount (Praktica).
