Canon PowerShot G2

From 2002, the Canon PowerShot G2. MSRP was $899! That’s a ton of money today and was crazy money back then.
It features a CCD sensor and a fast Canon f2 zoom lens. I can’t wait to take this one for a spin in our bright Florida sunshine (if I don’t melt).

From 2002. It’s big and a bit heavy, but nice.
It’s like a brick with a lens (in a good way).
The LCD does articulate and is bright and clear.
Super sharp and fast Canon f2 zoom lens.

I can hardly wait to go out and about with this sharp Canon from the early days od digital photography.

Inspiration

A painting I started and almost finished in 1967.
Here is the inspiration piece. A postcard from 1953.

The Montauk Point lighthouse was one of my favorite places to visit as a child. It was the first place I drove to by myself after receiving my driver’s license in 1971.

A family vacation in the summer of 2002.

Happy SUNday! – (found) pictures of my dad

Pictures of my dad Paul Whelan in Paris in 1945. He was an MP and spent most of the war at the Brooklyn Navy Yard which was just down the street from where he was raised and his family still lived. He wasn’t posted to Europe until later in the war.

A Brooklyn “kid” in Paris. My dad was about 31 in this picture.
My dad was in the CCC before the war started and worked for the NYC Transit Authority.
Great smile and a note for my mom.

Me in 1975 at my first duty station (NAS Pensacola) after Navy Aerographer’s Mate school (weather).

22-years old and still skinny from boot camp.
