These images are from a recent photo walk around the island with my 1983 Nikon L35AF 35mm film camera.
Autofocus and auto exposure were spot on. These scans are from The Darkroom lab in San Clemente, California. No post-processing by me or them.

Our local Publix on the island is being demolished to make way for a new store by late 2026. This one has served Amelia Island since 1987.

Out and about with my Canon New F-1 and Canon NFD 24 f/2.8 lens.

Fujifilm 200 color negative film. Processed and scanned by The Darkroom in San Clemente, California. I enjoy using my classic Canon FD lenses. The contrast and clarity always leave me satisfied with the results.

The surf is not often this flat along the NE Florida coast, especially during the winter. The ocean was a beautiful shade of blue-gray (a reflection of the clouds).

Beach driving is allowed along a small section of Fernandina Beach. The vehicles are closely regulated to ensure they stay away from the protected dunes and sea turtle nests.
