Happy SUNday! – Mets vs. Braves July 2009

It’s hard to believe that it’s been ten years since Tim and I attended this baseball game at Turner Field in Atlanta. Our Mets were soundly defeated (as usual) but the best times were spent with Tim.

Tim and I. Always true to the Orange and Blue! Let’s Go Mets!

Tim with Jackie who was the nicest Braves fan we ever met! Actually, Jackie was a security guard at the game and she could be seen on TV at every Braves home game as she worked the area behind home plate.

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day! – Chris

Mets vs Braves – July 2009

While downloading some forgotten images that were stored on my busted hp laptop, we came across these pics from a trip to see the Atlanta Braves take on our New York Mets at Turner Field in Atlanta. It was an early start Sunday night game that began at 6PM on ESPN.

Atlanta, Georgia on July 9th at 6PM – should have been nuclear hot out but it wasn’t. We caught a break! But the Mets didn’t!

Standing in the parking lot of Turner Field where the Fulton County Stadium used to be. My son, T.J. is standing near the original outfield wall where Hank Aaron hit his historic home run.

Of course starting in 2017, the Braves no longer play at Turner Field. They only played there for 20 years before moving to SunTrust Part on the northside of Atlanta.

One of the first sights of Turner field when you first walk in.

‘Met Killer’ and Braves great Chipper Jones #10 at the plate in the first inning. The Mets great David Wright #5 is just visible in the upper left of the image playing third base.

Good sized crowd for the ESPN Sunday Night game.

Miss Jackie – long time usher for the Braves works in the stands behind home plate. A super lady and friendly to smiling Mets fans too!

Me and Miss Jackie pose for a pic after the Braves beat my Mets, 7-1.

My guy Daniel Murphy #28 of the New York Mets.

Last sight of Turner Field for us as we didn’t get a chance to go back before the Braves moved on.

Popular one time Brave, Jeff Francoeur #12 at the plate in his first appearance back in Atlanta as a Met.

Ah yes… the 1969 Atlanta Braves. The team the Mets beat in 3 straight games in 1969 to win the National League Pennant and then go on to win the World Series against the Baltimore Orioles.

Thanks for your visit!
