Happy SUNday! – Shea Stadium August 19, 1972

New York Mets vs. Cincinnati Reds at Shea Stadium, Flushing, New York. A Saturday afternoon game on August 19, 1972, with a crowd of 43,257 fans. The Mets lost 5-0 to the Reds.

47 years ago almost to the day.

Mets Aug 1972 Yogi

(L-R) Pete Rose LF, Tom Gorman Home Plate Umpire, Yogi Berra Manager, Chris Pelekoudas 1B, Nick Colosi 2B, Andy Olsen 3B.

Tom Seaver

The GREAT Tom Seaver hitting flies to the outfielders before the start of the game during warmups.

Johnny Bench

The great Johnny Bench takes a mighty home run swing. He did hit a home run that game (#27) and was playing right field. The GREAT Jerry Grote is catching for the Mets.

All pics were taken by me with my trusty Yashica TL Electro-X 35mm SLR on Kodak Ektachrome 64 color slide film. I was using a 2x teleconverter on my 50mm Auto Yashinon lens.

The high temperature was 84 degrees which was recorded at Central Park. Bright sunshine and low humidity – perfect baseball weather!

boxscore 8-19-1972

The Mets record stood at 59-52 which is just a bit lower than their 2019 record of 63-60 but still in the typical range for the Mets this time of year.

Have a great day everyone and Let’s Go Mets! – Chris

Happy SUNday! – Mets vs. Braves July 2009

It’s hard to believe that it’s been ten years since Tim and I attended this baseball game at Turner Field in Atlanta. Our Mets were soundly defeated (as usual) but the best times were spent with Tim.

Tim with Jackie who was the nicest Braves fan we ever met! Actually, Jackie was a security guard at the game and she could be seen on TV at every Braves home game as she worked the area behind home plate.

Happy SUNday! – The joys of being a kid

Remembering a very happy time in my life – Springtime in New York, baseball, my home and yard, being seven and a half, and your dad taking your picture with his trusty camera.

My Dad Paul – Celebrating the 105th Anniversary of his Birth

I never stop thinking about him… the tall guy in the back, that’s my Dad back in 1963. The manager of my AAA Little League team. He was always with me, teaching, guiding, and loving me.                                                     Paul – Mar 7, 1914 to Nov 22, 1963

Magical Day with our Mets!

Wednesday, March 22nd was our 43rd wedding anniversary! So we celebrated by going to see our New York Mets at their Spring Training facilities at Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Other than the final score… 15-9, it was a blast to see the players again in one of the nicest places to see a game. We got to spend the day together and that was the best part!

Thanks for your visit! And Let’s Go Mets!
