Friday Fotos! – Photowalk with my 600mm Canon lens.

A few images from a quick photowalk along the Amelia River here in Fernandina Beach this afternoon. What contrasts—industrial ugliness mixed with our natural beauty.

Canon EF 300mm f/4 L IS USM lens with a Canon Extender 2x III. 600mm of reach!

‘Talaria’ Denver, Colorado. That must have been one heck of a trip!
Double-crested cormorant.
Juvenile royal tern (I think).
Tankers for the mills.
Mill one of two along the river. Ugly.
Shrimp boat. Only a few are left.
Crane.

One thing is obvious: Fernandina’s riverfront isn’t dull.

I spent part of my Saturday near the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airpot, photographing birds, the salt marsh, and distant bridges. I couldn’t pass up the chance to grab a few shots of airplanes passing overhead.

A bald eagle in its nest on Crane Island, Florida, along the banks of the Amelia River. Camera/Lens: Canon EOS R with Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM.

The eagle keeps a watchful eye on me and its favorite fishing grounds along the river. It is their nesting season currently and typically runs through May.
