Christmas Cactus 2022

Taken with my Fujifilm X-T2

Fujifilm Classic Chrome film sim. f10, 1/60, at ISO2500

If you look really close at the stigma you’ll see a tiny red heart (natural). I’m enjoying using my new to me Fujifilm X-T2 at 24.3MP APS-C X-TRANS CMOS III sensor I have a Canon EOS R at 30.3MP full-frame. So far for flowers, I like the slight softness of the Fuji. Thanks for stopping by, Chris

More cactus blossoms.

This beautiful Christmas cactus has blossomed twice this season. Once in November and again in mid-February.
The first layers opened.
Fully opened blossom.

This wonderful Christmas cactus has blossomed again this year which it’s never done before – what a wonderful gift!

Camera – Fujifilm X-A10 Mirrorless Digital Camera w/ Fujinon Aspherical Lens Super EBC XC 16-50mm f3.5-5.6 OIS II Lens

One focus spot. I love the subtle colors and soft focus.

I’ve owned this camera and lens set for about four years and use it almost exclusively in my studio for product pictures for listing in my online camera shops (Etsy, Mercari, eBay). It’s not a very expensive set (then and now) and one of the benefits is it is super lightweight (521 grams with lens) and is easy to hold with one hand. At 16 megapixels it’s plenty powerful (APS-C sensor) and has a 3-inch color LCD screen. Of course, it features interchangeable lenses so it’s easy to upgrade its capabilities.
