A very dear friend of mine captured this image the other day (it’s not AI) with her Nikon D7100. The church steeple is on Long Island. It’s an excellent composition.

It was extremely hard for us to choose just one favorite for the year. This one wins out just because it wasn’t planned and everything just had to fall into place with minutes to spare.

A very Merry Christmas to all… and a wish for a peaceful 2018. Our “leaders” in America need to take a chill pill and back off on the war talk. As a retired career U.S. Navy Sailor, in my opinion, the best use of our military might is for keeping the peace and protecting the country. NOT playing into the hands of fanatical “leaders” around the globe.

MAINTAIN the peace, CONTAIN your enemies and RESTRAIN our President. It’s easy to drop bombs on people, it takes a real leader to negotiate peace and foster accords.

The church looked so beautiful in the late day lighting yesterday, I decided to revisit it this evening a tad bit earlier. I love the silhouette of the peak and steeple as the sun was perfectly placed.
