Powerful Sensor
The imaging technology of the 40MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS 5 HR Sensor of the Fujifilm X100VI allows for detailed and masterful shots. With high resolution available in most cameras, creators can capture all the fine details in their environment. Whether it is a crowded city street or a rocky beach lit up in striking shades at sunset, the Fujifilm X100VI’s powerful sensor is a necessary upgrade. Operating at twice the speed of the previous generation, capturing fleeting expressions in portraits or the waves as they crest a seawall is no problem for the Fujifilm X100VI.

Digital teleconverters come in handy, especially when you need a closer shot. Users will get 1.4x and 2.0x crop factors with this Fujifilm camera, along with an internal 4-stop neutral density (ND) filter, to give you even more control over your shots.

Original owner, smoke and pet-free home.

More Fun with Fuji! – FinePix S9900W

In my opinion, the Fujifilm FinePix S9900W is one of the finest bridge cameras made – period. It’s also the only one I’ve used so my opinion and general “love” of all things from Fujifilm cloud my judgment.

Shown here with a hard-to-find sales brochure.
I purchased this wonderful camera for general use in my home studio shooting pictures for this blog and for listings in my online camera shop.
A crazy long Fujinon 50x zoom lens with 5-axis image stabilization.
Super macro image.

Pairing an expansive zoom lens with a versatile imaging system, the FinePix S9900W Digital Camera from Fujifilm features a 16.2 MP 1/2.3″ BSI-CMOS sensor along with a 50x optical zoom lens. The lens covers wide-angle to super-telephoto perspectives, and a 24-1200mm equivalent focal length range, and 5-axis image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper, clearer imagery. With respect to the image sensor, both high-resolution still shooting and full HD video recording is supported, and a top sensitivity of ISO 12800 benefits working in difficult lighting situations. A continuous shooting rate of 10 fps is available, and the processing abilities of the S9900W also maintain quick handling performance throughout the camera system. Additionally, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity enables seamless sharing of imagery to mobile devices as well as wireless remote control over the camera using the Fujifilm Camera Remote app.

Covering wide-angle to super-telephoto perspectives, the Fujinon 50x optical zoom lens provides an equivalent focal length range of 24-1200mm to suit working in nearly any environment. Intelligent Digital Zoom can be used to effectively double this range to 100x, with minimal image quality degradation, to benefit working with very distant subjects. For working with very close subject matter, a Super Macro mode permits focusing as closely as 0.4″ away.

Five-axis image stabilization combines both two-axis optical (pitch and yaw) and three-axis digital (roll, vertical shift, and horizontal shift) image stabilization systems, and helps to compensate for camera shake across all pertinent axes. This helps to realize sharper, clear imagery when shooting stills at slower shutter speeds or just maintaining a steady frame when recording video on the move.

It’s such a versatile camera and I hate selling it but my camera collection needs to be thinned out a bit. It’s in my camera shop at http://www.ccstudio2380.com if you’re interested. Thanks for stopping by, Chris

Happy SUNday!

Testing my new to me Kodak EasyShare Z1015 IS 10-megapixel digital bridge camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon 28-420mm (equivalent) AF 15X Optical Zoom lens. Wow, what a mouthful!

The all-glass Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon Optical Zoom Lens provides powerful zoom combined with precision optics. Its fast aperture range (f/3.5-5.4) and 15x zoom range (28-420mm equivalent) offer extraordinary creative performance and sharp images.
Full telephoto.

It was rather late in the afternoon when I gave the camera a bit of a test so the images are quite contrasty. I am surprised at just how sharp the lens is even fully zoomed at the 420mm handheld.

Here are some late morning images a few days later.

Close-up at telephoto zoom.
Full telephoto (handheld).
Close-up “macro” setting with fill-in flash.

I didn’t know this about the camera until just now doing some background research – The EasyShare Z1015 IS comes with a rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery (KLIC-8000) but is also compatible with disposable CRV3 Lithium batteries, and it can use AA-size batteries (Lithium & Alkaline) as well. Plus, the camera includes an AC adapter/charger, that utilizes the camera’s USB port to provide power. With all of these power options; you’ll always have the means to power your camera available to you. Frame your shots with the high-resolution electronic viewfinder (EVF) or with the 3.0″ indoor/outdoor color LCD, and then verify the exposure of your pictures using the histogram feature with highlight clipping. The LCD display lets you view your pictures right-side-up with auto picture rotation and in review mode, quickly magnify images up to 8x to confirm focus and details, fast scroll through pictures, or view multi-up images. I’m impressed.

Overall a smaller and more compact 15x bridge camera.
Nice 3 inch LCD.

As best as I can tell the camera was released around 2008 and all things considered, it had some impressive specs for the time. I’m very impressed with the performance of this vintage digital camera here in 2022. At the moment I think this one is a keeper. Thanks for stopping by! – Chris

Fujifilm FinePix JX250 test pics

Garden Cat – medium telephoto fully automatic exposure.
Wide-angle on full auto. My driveway looks like heck.
Longish telephoto – auto exposure.
Medium long telephoto on full auto.
Auto exposure – medium telephoto.

For a compact digital camera that was released in 2010 the exposures are accurate albeit not super-sharp by today’s standards. Technology has come a long way since then where high-end camera phones can be crazy sharp and compact. This is from another era and it shows.

The camera is super compact about the size of a deck of cards which makes it a bit smallish for me to use comfortably. It’s biggest pluses to me is the steady shot capabilities at longer telephoto shots did its job and negated my shaky hands. The Fujinon lens is sharp with 5x optical zoom but not crazy sharp. Good contrast across the shooting range which produces accurate and pleasing exposures.

I like collecting these simple and compact P&S digitals from the past – it helps me appreciate just how far we’ve come in just over a decade. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

SUNday Spotlight – Chasing Classic Cameras – Canon PowerShot A570 IS

Can a modern digital camera qualify as a classic? You bet especially when it still does what it was designed to do and do it well.

DSCF2004

Released way back in 2007!

DSCF2015

A rather fast f/ 2.6 lens with a 35-140mm equivalent zoom.

Not a lot of megapixels but with true image stabilization, it’s capable of capturing your point and shoot snaps. It produces pleasing images as long as you’re not expecting to make enlarged prints.

If you’d like to know more about this model there’s plenty of info here.

Some sample images below.
