This manual focus lens is from 1976 and is in excellent condition inside and out. Some of its most impressive features are the 15 elements in 10 groups, f3.8 to f22 aperture range, multicoated lens surfaces, and 16 inches minimum focusing distance at close focusing setting.

Hanging On – Starting Over

The last leaves of autumn and new growth.

River maple pops its new blossoms while an old leaf refuses to “leave”.

The last few days of January and the river maples are showing their new blossoms and buds.

The last pear leaf and the first bud.

Japanese garden bell catches the last rays of the day.

A beautiful day in the garden as our North Florida sunlight warms with its late winter rays. Hopefully, we’re past our hard freezes and we’ll be frost free the rest of the winter.

A rescued Christmas cactus rewards us with its delicate beauty.

Looking neglected at a local big box home store, Carol rescued this cactus – it rewards us with beautiful blossoms and lovely leaves of deep green. Here captured in the studio with our Fujifilm FinePix S9900W set on chrome color slide film simulation.

This is a tough one (as evidenced by the number of images submitted for your consideration). Here’s what we came up with in response to this weeks challenge.

Perspective and scale. They go hand in hand. Is the flower big or is it small. The mushroom – close to the camera lens or was it shot with a telephoto? The brass ball – big or small? Big leaf or little leaf or is it the scales (cells)? The forest fits in the viewfinder.
