Kodak Kodachrome 25 – early 1970s classic film

I can’t even begin to guess how many rolls of this I shot in the 1970s.

You had better have lots of bright sunlight and a fast lens to shoot this back in the day!

Hong Kong streets – 1979

Both of these images were captured with my Canon F-1 on Kodak Kodachrome slide film – handheld at 2-3 seconds. The colors are not the best but sometimes Kodachrome behaves badly at night at long exposures (well, that’s my excuse anyway). I don’t remember where in Hong Kong these were taken except the second image must have been near Fleet Landing if I recall correctly.

A couple of classic cars taken in June 1958 somewhere in Connecticut (maybe Hartford).

My wife’s Uncle Bill’s car – a Ford? Reader Jim Grey says it’s a Dodge and I agree. Maybe a 1958 Royal Lancer? The paint scheme is pretty gaudy – a “saddle” two-tone, which had the roof and all of the body below the belt-line trim as one color and the body above the belt-line trim as another.

My father-in-law’s Frank’s car – a Chevy Impala.

They built them big and heavy back then and to think they were considered coupes (two doors). Dual antennas too! Have a great day!

Vintage 35mm Film

It’s always fun to have some variety in your collection and collecting vintage film boxes (with the film still unopened inside) is a nice way to add some spice to your camera collection. These film boxes make a great addition to your displays.

The Kodak Kodachrome has been in one of my camera bags since new. Over the past decade or two, I’ve had it on display with my Canon F-1. I also have some Kodachrome 25 from the same time period. Awesome color slide film with super crisp resolution and colors.

Tamiya Martini Racing 935 Porsche – 1977

High-quality 1:12 scale Tamiya model. Photographed with a Canon F-1 with Canon FD 24mm f/2.8 lens on Kodak Kodachrome. Assembled and photographed at my home in Honmoku, Yokohama in 1979.

Tamiya models were always the best! The only thing I left off was the red air dam stripe and I swapped the Martini decal for a Porsche decal above the grill.

These kits unassembled and still new in the box go for around $350 to $450 USD.
