Vintage 35mm Film

It’s always fun to have some variety in your collection and collecting vintage film boxes (with the film still unopened inside) is a nice way to add some spice to your camera collection. These film boxes make a great addition to your displays.

The Kodak Kodachrome has been in one of my camera bags since new. Over the past decade or two, I’ve had it on display with my Canon F-1. I also have some Kodachrome 25 from the same time period. Awesome color slide film with super crisp resolution and colors.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to visit my camera shop at http://www.ccstudio2380.com. I have these three films available in my shop if you’re interested. – Chris

Tamiya Martini Racing 935 Porsche – 1977

21032603116_2d252a81b8_o

High-quality 1:12 scale Tamiya model. Photographed with a Canon F-1 with Canon FD 24mm f/2.8 lens on Kodak Kodachrome. Assembled and photographed at my home in Honmoku, Yokohama in 1979.

Tamiya models were always the best! The only thing I left off was the red air dam stripe and I swapped the Martini decal for a Porsche decal above the grill.

These kits unassembled and still new in the box go for around $350 to $450 USD.

Near Motomachi, Yokohama – 1979

Interesting street scene captured these young ladies interacting with the always helpful police. Taken near the prestigious Motomachi shopping street in central Yokohama. Canon F-1 with Canon FD 80-200mm lens on Kodachrome 64 film. It’s really hard to believe that this is now 40-years ago.

Sakura in Naka-ku – Yokohama’s little jewel

Beautiful Sankei-en (Gardens)

We were very fortunate to live just a short bicycle ride from Sankei-en and although I was seldom home during the Spring we would always find time to spend the day there.

Hercules and Cacus – Piazza della Signoria, Florence

Maybe not my most favorite statue in Florence (so many to choose from) but I like the effect that my 24mm lens gives the viewer – add in contrasty late day lighting and it was a tough shot to get. Wide angle lenses like the 24mm slightly pointed upward will give the most (pleasing) distortion.

Canon F-1 with Canon FD 24mm f/ 2.8 wide angle lens on Kodak Kodachrome 25 color slide film. The light meter in the F-1 handled the tricky lighting rather well. If I remember correctly, I took a spot reading of the building in bright sunlight and then the deep shadows behind the statue – I then adjusted the exposure settings to reflect an average of the two.
