A classic Canon accessory.Here is a very nice early version of this important accessory from Canon for the original Canon F-1.
Canon Booster T Finder for the Canon F-1 – Mint in Box w/ Leather Case, Connecting Cord, New Battery, Prism Cover – Fully Tested – 1 Owner
The Booster T Finder, interchangeable with the F-1 pentagonal prism section reads precise exposures with its electronic timer under extremely dim lighting conditions. It is effective for photomicrography, macro- photography, and when shooting indoors or night scenes where timed exposures are necessary.
It will complete as pictured. The leather case is in near-perfect condition as is the finder itself. The Canon connecting cord 6V 2B is also in excellent condition and is the correct cord for the finder. The finder is powered by an easy-to-find A544 6V alkaline battery which I’ve included.
This finder was a key part of my Canon F-1 collection that I’m now downsizing.
The case is in exceptionally nice condition.Mint condition.The battery test indicates all is up and running.The Booster T Finder replaces the eye-level pentaprism finder on the Canon F-1.Shown here with the standard eye-level finder removed from the original F-1.

Although it’s undated my sharp eyes spotted a date code on the lens (rear mounting plate) beginning with ‘S’ which is 1978. The brochure features the new Canon New FD lens lineup and I hadn’t seen it before acquiring it recently in a large camera and photogear purchase.
Lovely centerfold that’s about 17 x 22 inches big!A pretty neat cover shot for this hard-to-find brochure.There’s some nice tech stuff inside in addition to the great pics and charts.The date code that I see is ‘S1105’ for November 1978. Back cover with my dream collection!

I’m always on the lookout (chase) for items to add value to my camera collection. Recently I purchased a super nice Minolta X-700 35mm SLR and Minolta 50mm f/2 lens from a local collector who swore he still had the original boxes that the camera came in. After much searching around his home, he discovered them packed away in a seldom-used Christmas ornaments box. The boxes are factory fresh since he put them away when still new.
Factory fresh!Includes the foam inserts.The outer shipping box is a bit rough but it did its job and kept the presentation boxes fresh.A body cap and a rear lens dust cap. An added bonus is the little plastic insert that covers the film pressure plate.

Complete Canon Olympics Edition A-1 with 1968 Gold Medal winner Jean-Claude Killy pictured on the box (both sides). Killy also appeared in some print advertising for Canon in late 1979 and 1980.
The Winter Olympics were held in February 1980 in Lake Placid, New York so Canon needed someone of note to feature on the box for the A-1 that went into production in early 1979. Since there wasn’t a clear Olympic standout in skiing in the 1976 games, Canon turned to three-time Gold Medalist Killy from the 1968 games in Grenoble, France to feature on the box. A simple Thanksgiving dinner with family. This is as fancy as we get!
The plates and glasses are my mom and dad’s passed down to us. I believe they received them back in the early 1950s. It’s a very small way to have them share dinner with us.
A mess but it’s what we like to have for our Thanksgiving meal.
I hope everyone had a chance to spend the day or weekend if you were lucky with some or all of your family and friends. I can remember more than a few that we weren’t able to do that and are thankful whenever we can. Thanks for stopping by, Chris, Carol, and Tim.

Candid street photography can be super satisfying but it can also be stressful if you’re not an outgoing person or you’re in a less than favorable shooting location (busy street, lots of people). I’m basically very shy so approaching strangers is a challenge for me. There’s no one camera that’s best suited for taking candid pics but a few have earned a reputation as good street cams. One that comes to mind is the Yashica T3 (Kyocera T Scope).
The Konica Kanpa! (Kanpai). 35mm “Party Camera” with a voice-activated shutter.I believe the “scope” on the Konica is a bit bigger.Konica’s waist-level finder.Kyocera’s waist-level finder.Slide the microphone switch upwards to adjust the sensitivity of the built-in mic.It features a sharp 34mm Konica 3element/3 group glass lens.
Designed to be used in a group setting for automatically tripping the electronic shutter when someone or everyone yells “Kanpai” (Cheers) or whatever you want to yell out – cheese works too. When used in a street setting the camera can conveniently sit in your lap or just hang around your neck and frame your shot with the top-mounted finder. I guess you could just yell “Hi!” at everyone without touching the shutter button and then capture their reaction (I’m not that brave).
