Finally! It took me the better part of a week to install these 6 x 6-inch stainless steel tiles as a backsplash behind the range. I’m very happy with the results.
Looking better.By alternating each tile the light is reflected in an interesting pattern depending on where you’re standing. The range has an induction cooktop. By Cafe.
The next part of the project is to finish installing the marble tiles on the remainder of the backsplash. Thanks for stopping by! – Chris

Another big step in our kitchen reno today as I’m finally able to install the 6 x 6-inch stainless steel tiles under the vent hood. I painted the wall with Sherwin-Williams Tricorn Black (6258) since I won’t be using grout to fill any gaps and seams between the tiles I wanted to “hide” the background wall. I’ll be sure to post new pics once the tiles are all in place (I’ll see if my no-grout decision was the right one).
The tiles are from http://www.stainlesssteeltile.comThe countertop on the left is Silestone quartz and on the right is a hickory butcher block countertop.
The walls on either side of the tiles will be covered with large marble slabs (12 x 24-inch) again with no grout between the joints. I’ll be sure to post updates soon. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day! – Chris

Taken during an early evening rain after a day of on and off showers and thunderstorms.
I planted these two river maples (looks like three) from seeds produced from mature maples growing wild in my backyard. If I remember correctly that was just over ten years ago. Have I mentioned that I love trees?

I’ve been active (very active) on eBay since 2003 and a seller since around 2008. I’ve purchased hundreds of items through eBay and of course, I’ve sold hundreds of items too. Here is eBay’s latest message to me about my performance.
What gets me is the “what happens next”. See my current feedback below. My latest seller “dashboard”. I have purposefully cut back on listing items on eBay over the past 6 months or so and the decrease in sales is obvious. I have no negative comments and my ratings are all 5 stars. So, exactly where am I failing and why the threat of “further action”?
Ebay’s fees are getting out of hand especially since they divorced PayPal. It’s actually much more difficult to post a new listing as you have to answer a zillion questions about the item before it can be listed (as if you were there when it was made). And the final reason is this nonsense. I’m doing very well on Etsy (I have two shops) and I also do well on Mercari. Is anyone else having difficulties with the “new” eBay? Oh, I forgot about eBay’s constant push for 30-day free returns and free shipping. I’m not Amazon and I don’t own a shipping company so I don’t know how to ship items for free without raising my selling price just to cover costs. “Free returns” is a joke as guess who gets to pay that? If you don’t offer those options then your listing kind of exists without eBay ever promoting it.

The upper kitchen cabinets have been removed from over the bar, now it’s time to get rid of the soffit structure.I’m standing on the bar countertop tackling the last part of the structure that extends up through the ceiling into the inaccessible attic. It turns out it was nailed into the existing roof trusses and didn’t go without a fight. By the way, I’m the one who built the bar so I know it was capable of holding a rather large me.Almost gone! See the next picture to check out the new hole.At the moment I’m leaving it open to be able to run new wiring.Another ugly wall that will get repaired. I’m leaving it open at the moment because I need to run wiring for ceiling-mounted recessed LED lights. The white pipe is the drain vent that extends up through the roof. The unpainted beadboard was covered by the upper cabinets.
We started our kitchen reno in March 2021. Our home was built and we purchased it new in 1991 so it seemed like a good time to update the look of the kitchen and upgrade the appliances. Tomorrow I get my cabinet doors and drawers back from the paint shop. I’ll be sure to post a few pics after they get installed. Thanks for stopping by! – Chris

We were gifted this strange cactus about 10 years ago and while it’s thrived sitting on our bay window plant shelf we don’t know what it is. It’s kind of pretty but kind of ugly at the same time. Oh well, at least it’s green and growing! Thanks for stopping by! – Chris
