Friday Flashback – Yashica Pentamatic ’35’

It was Yashica’s first 35mm SLR, and production began in late 1959 with the help of the recently acquired Nicca Camera Company.

It features a unique, clean, uncluttered design.

In May of 1959, Canon released its first 35mm SLR, the Canonflex.

In 1959, the Nikon F also made its debut.
