I finished two around-the-house projects this week.
It wasn’t a big project, but I was waiting for a part to arrive. I switched out our Samsung Bespoke refrigerator’s lower white glass panel and installed a charcoal glass panel for contrast. Samsung provided an extra set of three panels for free at the time of purchase.I added some trim around the air handler to give it a more built-in look. The unit is in our utility room, and although it’s in the back corner, I wanted it to look “finished.”Our washing machine is in another part of the room.

Almost finished. Just a few more details and our kitchen renovation will be completed. Yeah us!
We installed the Cafe induction range, Ikea cabinets, stainless steel tile, marble slab backsplash, and Hauslane vent hood.Marble slab tiles and a hickory butcher block work surface.
I’ll share more pictures of the other side of the kitchen soon. It’s more fun when you do it yourself.

A collection of images of the sky over Amelia Island, Florida. My son, Tim, captured the last photo on his phone (I think it’s the best). Do you have a favorite? Let me know. Thanks.

A bald eagle in its nest on Crane Island, Florida, along the banks of the Amelia River. Camera/Lens: Canon EOS R with Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM.
The eagle keeps a watchful eye on me and its favorite fishing grounds along the river. It is their nesting season currently and typically runs through May.

The Kodak EasyShare Max Z990 was released in 2011 with a 12 MP BSI CMOS sensor. It’s considered a bridge camera, a compact digital with some features and styling of a larger DSLR. It has a 30x optical image stabilized lens made in Germany. I love the bold, bright, and contrasty photos it captures.
Fernandina Beach lifeguard Gavin is standing watch over the beaches of Amelia Island, Florida.Busy beach. My three ‘test’ palms.More expansive view – note the three ‘test’ palms.Wide angle of about 28mm.Telephoto at around 800mm.HDR setting.Kodak film simulation of ‘Vivid’ is closely associated with Kodacolor film. Sharp and contrasty. This is a lifeguard stand shot with the camera’s ‘HDR’ setting. Notice how the yellow flag shows movement since HDR takes three images in succession and then combines them into one image.
The Kodak EasyShare Max Z990 is a worthy digital camera from the early 2010s. At 12 MP, it has plenty of resolution for most applications, and its superzoom lens (28-840mm) blows away most other cameras in its class. By the way, all these images are straight from the camera – no post-processing. JPEGs can be sharp and colorful.
