It’s always fun to have some variety in your collection and collecting vintage film boxes (with the film still unopened inside) is a nice way to add some spice to your camera collection. These film boxes make a great addition to your displays.

One of my favorite films of the 1970s.

The Kodak Kodachrome has been in one of my camera bags since new. Over the past decade or two, I’ve had it on display with my Canon F-1. I also have some Kodachrome 25 from the same time period. Awesome color slide film with super crisp resolution and colors.

Yashima Pigeonflex – 1953

Before Yashica was Yashica it was Yashima. Yashima’s first camera was the oddly named Pigeonflex twin-lens reflex film camera (TLR). This was the first leather camera case for that camera.

Actually the second version of the first case.

Over the years I’ve taken several guesses as to what that little pocket is for. It’s not big enough to hold a lens cap but it would be a handy place for some lens cleaning tissue or to put a film box top as a reminder as to which film is loaded in the camera.

This case is in remarkable condition given the fact that’s it’s 67 years old.

Chasing Classic Cameras with Chris

On the left is the Fujicaflex Automat by the Fuji Photo Film Company – Fuji’s first and only twin-lens reflex (TLR) camera. On the right is the Yashica Flex S (aka Yashicaflex S) by Yashima Kogaku Seiki Company.

Yashima (later to be known as Yashica) went on to build TLRs until 1986 producing thousands encompassing over thirty models.

The Fujicaflex was under development by Fuji since around 1948 and the direction they took was to build a high-quality camera geared to the serious amateur and semi-professional photographer. By all accounts, it was a bust in the marketplace (way too expensive) as Fuji never attempted to follow it up with a second model and ending production in just about a year.

The Fujicaflex is noticeably larger than the Yashica Flex S – the Fuji weighs 1,323 grams and the Yashica comes in at 1,117 grams. Both cameras were weighed with a…

Some new additions to our already crowded Yashica family of cameras.

Our all-time favorite Yashica SLR.

This one is from April 1973 and was made in the newly opened factory in Hong Kong.

Hard to find Yashica Electro AX – second to the last M42 screw mount lens bodies.

This is the only early Yashica SLR with a leatherette insert on the pentaprism. This one was made in November 1973.

Kodak Brownie Holiday Flash Outfit – 1956

From Kodak around 1956, this is a Brownie Holiday Flash 127 roll film camera set. Still with its original box and still fully functional. The set comes with flashbulbs, the detachable flash unit, strap, and the Midget Flashguard (vinyl shield) for the flash.

Made in the USA from rugged Bakelite and designed to last a lifetime.

The flash takes (2) AA batteries and standard flashbulbs.

The camera uses 127 roll film which is still being manufactured and of course, is still processed via online labs (and via home processing). 120 roll film can also be used if you modify the film roll to fit. 127 format produces 4 x 6.4 cm negatives (1 5/8 x 2 1/4 inch).

The original box. I acquired this set from the original owner and his name “Bobby” is printed on the top center of the box (in red). He’s had it new since Christmas 1956.

I’ve tested everything but the flash (I didn’t want to waste a bulb) and the winder, the shutter operate properly. The direct-view viewfinder is clear and bright – I do see some dust and a few fingers of fungus on the lens but I believe it’s still capable of delivering nice vintage images.

If you haven’t used a brownie before they’re a blast to use and the 127 format produces a nice image that’s easy to scan.

Rare 1984 Los Angeles Olympics Fujifilm Neopan Dark Bag (film changing bag)

Rare Fuji Fujifilm Neopan Film Changing Dark Bag
– Official Film of the Los Angeles 1984 Olympics
– Unused with Original Box

Not many of these still survive to this day. This one is unused with its original box. It’s in mint condition – the zipper works as it should, the nylon is soft and pliable and the elastic
sleeve cuffs are lightproof and tight.

Perfect (and rather rare) Olympic collectible and perfect for use as a film changing bag while out and about and in the light.

The original box is a bit shopworn and it has some tape and glue on it (see pics) but it’s
still solid.

The bag is quite large with plenty of room inside to maneuver your camera(s) around. This is a very well made accessory with high-quality materials.

Look closely at the logo – there are some defects visible from the manufacturing process here and there but no soiling or stains. My pictures are an accurate depiction of the bag.

I mail daily and super fast. I’ll mail it FOR FREE in the USA via USPS Priority Mail with tracking and insurance.
