Canon FD 55mm f/1.2 Lens

A truly exceptional lens mated to my Canon F-1 from 1978.

Monster glass on a beast.

Canon F-1 with Canon 55mm f/1.2 chrome nosed lens and Canon MF motor drive.
BTW, the lens weighs 551 grams by itself and this entire set comes in at 2,209 grams! Add 10 AA batteries and film and you’ve earned a trip to the doctor.

    1. Thanks for your question. Let’s assume that there are no issues (fungus, mold, cleaning marks, scratches, dirt, dust, separation) in the lens and on the glass surfaces. No damage to the aperture blades or the lens barrel. The focus is smooth and the mount is tight. In other words, a well-taken care of lens like mine would sell from around $190 to $250 depending on if the lens has its original Canon lens caps and if there’s an original box included. Be very careful because these are big and heavy and if they weren’t handled properly during their lifetimes then there most likely will be hidden (or undisclosed) defects that will detract from the overall quality of the optics which will produce a compromised image. With all of this being said, I believe the Canon FD 55mm f1.2 lens is a steal at these prices. My Auto-Yashinon Tomioka branded 55mm f1.2 lens is worth 3 to 4 times as much with some examples going for near $800 to $1000.
