Honmoku, Naka-ku, Yokohama late 1970s. One of my favorite images from that time period as the various shop dogs and cats were not easy to get pictures of. The late day sun helped to add depth to the composition.
Camera: Canon F-1 (1978 Version) with FD 80-200mm zoom lens on Kodachrome.

Thank you! I used to shoot Kodachrome 25 all the time. The fine grain and exceptional colors made the slowness of the emulsion worth it. Little exposure latitude to slide film so you had to be spot on with your metering. I imagine with digital now it’s much easier to “capture” the shop dogs and cats. We loved the fact that almost all the shops near our home in Yoko had at least one dog or cat that hung out in the shop.

Yes, I remember that, very limited exposure latitude with this wonderful film, I used only slide film when I was a kid in the 60’s . Later I used Fuji slidefilm, was a bit cheaper and I think 100 asa…or 50 I forgot…getting old 😉

Very nice. It was always such a thrill to see the bright colorful images whenever you opened up your box of slides from the lab. I have some Fujichrome Provia 100F now that I should shoot. Minolta was always a very good camera.
